Christmas Tidings!

Christmas is such a fun time of year. It's my favorite holiday. The anticipation of giving and receiving gifts, family traditions, good food, and time with friends lifts my spirits at a time when the daily grind has usually sucked the life out of me. A year ago, we spent the two weeks leading up to Christmas in the hospital. We are thankful that we got to go home on the 23rd, but I remember walking by rooms with sick kids in them wishing that they could go home, too. Our Christmastime wasn't too different than normal—we got to eat good food and be together with family. We were lucky.
We are so thankful that we haven't had to spend much time at the hospital this year. We remember well what it was like being in the hospital and getting to leave two days before Christmas—the anticipation of seeing our other kids, the guilt of leaving while others couldn't. This year, as we recall those days we spent in the hospital, we want to reach out to one of the families going through active treatment at Levine's. Through the social workers at the oncology clinic, we've connected with the family of a nine-year-old boy who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. They are entering this holiday season completely blindsided by this diagnosis. We share this because we want to bless this family this holiday season, and we want your help.
With the help of the social workers at Levine's, we have put together a wish list of what the family needs/wants on Amazon, which you can view here. The shipping address is linked to the wish list, but if you have any questions feel free to email Christie (christiejcraig@gmail.com). If you don't do Amazon, the family has mentioned that they often shop at Walmart. If you purchase a Walmart gift card (no random purchases, please!), you can email Christie for the mailing address. Whatever you do, please do it by December 20th. Let us know if you think the package will arrive after the 20th.
Giving is what this season is about, right? A time to remember the greatest gift, and hold these earthly possessions with open hands. May the blessings of Christ and his kingdom be on you and yours this Christmas season!
