Christmas Tidings! Part II
We have been so encouraged by your quick and generous response in helping the family mentioned in our previous post. All of the items were purchased before lunchtime today! Thank you for joining us in the opportunity to care for this family. You can still purchase gift cards for this family through the wishlist, here, or you can mail store-purchased ones to us, which we'll take to the family with the other gifts (email christiejcraig@gmail.com for the address).
Some of you who didn't get a chance to help this family have expressed an interest in doing something else to help. Thank you! Another way to help is to give gifts to the oncology clinic for distribution to families going through treatment. You can find a wishlist of assorted supplies and gifts for the oncology clinic here. Most of these gifts range from $5-$20. The child life specialists at the clinic provide these gifts to kids and teens during office visits and hospital stays. These are such a blessing to the kids in clinic, especially after painful IV starts or if they have long infusion or chemotherapy days. Ethen has received so much throughout the course of his treatment and it is still a joy for us to remember the generosity of others and the stories linked with each toy when we play with them at home. Our hope through this wishlist would be to help replenish the stock of toys that gets used during different holiday events. You can purchase iTunes and Amazon gift cards, which are often in shorter supply at clinic and can be a huge blessing to the teenage patients who don't typically play with blocks and Play-Doh. If you want to give in this way, please do so by December 23rd. We plan to deliver them to clinic in the days following Christmas. If you have any questions, again, please feel free to email Christie.
We will update with pictures once we have put all of the gifts together!
