     Friday is Scan Day. Ethen actually has several appointments tomorrow, but the most important is no doubt the appointment for scans. Prior to scans Ethen has an appointment with a cardiologist to do an EKG and an echocardiogram to check his heart health. Following the meeting with the cardiologist, Ethen will go to the radiology department to be prepped for CT and MIBG scans. These scans are used to check for anatomical normality and any possible trace of neuroblastoma cells, respectively. After scans Ethen will receive a hearing test to establish his pre-DFMO hearing baseline. The hearing test is necessary because taking DFMO has been shown to result in hearing loss for some patients. Finally, someone from the oncology team will collect a bone marrow aspirate, which will be analyzed for normality. At some point in the afternoon, we will receive a phone call from Ethen's oncologist to inform us of the scan results.
     It's going to be a long day. Please pray that we can rest in the Lord's goodness—no matter what the scan results. As I've shared before, we are battling anxieties. You can imagine the scenarios that flash across our minds' eyes. Please pray with us that Ethen is completely free of cancer.
