A Better Day

     I wanted to write a brief update concerning Ethen because of the positive change we've seen today. Previously this week, Ethen didn't want to sit up at all, much less play with toys. Today, he sat up and played for stretches of time at different points in the day. Previously this week, Ethen wouldn't eat or drink anything. Today, Christie got Ethen to drink about an ounce of water in the morning. These are significant changes to my mind, and we are thankful!
     Please continue praying along the lines of the requests I mentioned in yesterday's post. Ethen's been drooling a lot, which is indicative that his digestive tract is inflamed. Thankfully he does not seem to be in significant pain. Pray his stem cells engraft and begin producing blood cells. The only way his inflammation will go away is if his white blood cells return. Ethen's also still feverish. This could mean that his stem cells are engrafting, but it could also mean that there is some sort of infection lurking in his body. Pray there is no infection.
