Preparing for Surgery
I'm a little late with this update, but we are back home with Ethen. He did well with the treatment, all things considered. He got knocked down, but he is a resilient little fighter. He insisted on taking laps around the hospital floor throughout our stay. Now that we're back home, he's scooting down the halls and climbing the stairs by himself. Needless to say, we are enjoying family time this week.
Our next scheduled visit to the hospital is Monday. We'll take Ethen for his pre-surgery scans to get an updated picture of what the tumor looks like. Please pray this week that Ethen recovers quickly from the chemo side effects. The doctor warned us that Ethen will have a higher susceptibility to fever once he's neutropenic because of the infection and fever he got after the last round of treatment. Pray with us that Ethen does not get a fever. He's on a tight schedule as we prepare for surgery, and a delay could move surgery back quite a lot due to the surgeon's existing schedule. Speaking of surgery, you could pray that it isn't even necessary. Why not ask big, right?
I pray healing over Ethen's little body in the name of Jesus!
