Starting Round 2

The weather this past week made being at home with the kids almost like a vacation. We enjoyed the outdoors and Ethen's new water table. Lots of fun memories! After a change of pace at home with the kids for the past week, we are now back at the hospital. Though we'd rather be at home with the all the kids, it was nice to be welcomed back to smiling faces here in Levine Children's Hospital.
We came in early today to the oncology clinic so Ethen could get checked to determine whether or not he was in a suitable condition to begin his second round of chemotherapy. His blood counts were indeed good and have not changed much since they were last checked before leaving the hospital. After the clinic visit, Ethen had his GI scan to see if his organs had good positioning in his abdomen to insert the gastric tube. All went well with the scan and his G-tube procedure will go on as scheduled in the morning. Please pray for Ethen's body to handle chemo treatment as well as possible. It's hard to know that our happy little boy will get beat up again by the chemo, but we try to keep the bigger picture in view. Pray we can encourage him throughout the week—keeping him intrigued with life and interested in playing.
