The Waits

     The past couple days have been full of waiting. The long waits with Ethen are seemingly endless to our restless spirits; however, there have been moments to brighten our days. Time with our older kids has been fun and memorable; family and friends have visited; nurses have made extra effort to entertain Ethen. We've just been anxious to see our playful Ethen back in action. We have seen more glimpses of this over the past couple days, but he has been fairly fatigued and sluggish. Although he is still run down he does look better—nurses who saw him last week have encouraged us that his appearance has improved. Appearances aside, he continues to improve in his hemoglobin, platelet and blood salt levels. Pray that these good levels maintain and that he can begin to recover his white blood cells and regain autonomous function of his body systems.
