Peering through the Window

     The past couple days have been positive. Ethen is gaining strength and has been playing with toys on the floor during physical therapy appointments. We are still several days from going home, but we are pleased with Ethen's gradual progress. To give Ethen a sense of liberty we took him to one of his favorite spots. Since we couldn't actually go outside, we went to his room window. He loved it. He peered out his 11th floor window to see trees and little people crossing crosswalks, cars passing, and birds perching. After looking out his window, he looked at me and Christie with a bashful smile then looked back out the window. If he could have spoken at that moment... Having taken in the sights Ethen sat in the sunlight and played ball with me. To cap off a fun day with new activities in the room Ethen got to sit in a warm bath—another of his favorite places. We are thankful Ethen got to enjoy some of his favorite things today. Please pray he continues to gain strength and that he can put some muscle weight back on as he prepares for round 2 of chemotherapy.
